American Indian Happy Meal Characters: McDonald’s Responds
In response to an inquiry about two cartoonish-looking Native American characters that appeared to be part of a Happy Studio campaign, the McDonald’s corporation has respectfully apologized for the misstep, and said the characters never made their way out of France. The characters were in the same style as the cast of HappyStudio.com, a website connected to McDonald’s and aimed at kids. At HappyStudio, children create personal avatars that inhabit a world that is also home to Happy Meal boxes with arms, legs and personalities (cowboy, scientist, pirate, etc.)
Ok, but “cowboy” “scientist” and “pirate” are all JOBS, NOT RACES OF PEOPLE. And I don’t really give two fucks if “they’ve not made their way out of frace” THEY’RE STILL RACIST AND CHILDREN IN FRANCE WILL THINK THIS IS ACCEPTABLE. Fuck mcdonnalds, fuck them for real, they can take their non-apology and stick it right up their asses

To report her shop, you need an etsy account, I dont have one anymore and I don’t want to make another one on principle, if one of my other native friends still has an account, I suggest reporting the shop, she’s claiming they’re native and they’re obviously not, making her shop illegal.

I am in fact educated about the hundreds of tribes and what many of them wear and how it reflects their particular tribe. This picture was not taken out of ignorance to reflect a Native American or even to poke fun at anyone but rather because my best friend found a feather on the ground, put it in her hair and was walking back towards me when I snapped a picture of her.
